If your brand is the sum total of all the things you do in the world, then how far would you go to live up to the expectations of people in that world?
Would you do something like this?
And how would you grow a culture to enable this kind of brand expression?
Good questions to ponder… and act upon.
Saturn is where I first learned consultative sales and what brand management looks like from the insight out. But it does take a level of idealism many will shy away from. This story matches my experience there in the mid to late ninties. Being a certain kind of company leads to acting in certain ways which over time result in brand expections in the marketplace. It does work! And it is central to my firm’s way of doing business today. I learned it at Saturn.
